Indore: The New Delhi-bound Jet airways flight S2-792 was delayed by over 90 minutes on Tuesday due to a bird-hit.
The incident took place around 7.15 am during the take-off when a bird from grassland near the runway hit the plane wing, forcing a delay of 90 minutes, airport authority officer RN Shinde said.
The flight had over 80 passengers on board.
The bird hit damaged one of the plane's fan belts just before it was to take -off from the Devi Ahilya airport. The pilot applied brake and the plane was brought onto the apron under emergency condition.
A bird, suspected to be an eagle, hit the aircraft, leading to some damage, sources said.
