New Delhi: Very soon, you will be able to make a domestic flight booking based on the punctuality record of the flight.
A senior Government official told Business Line, “This matter came up in the meeting of National On-time Performance Committee held on Tuesday. Now a committee has been formed to suggest the modalities.” Such a system exists in the US.
In the proposed system, as soon you enter the details of the flight of your choice you will get historical on-time performance of the flight.
Two options are being considered. One, is to give the on-time performance either of past one-two months, the other is to give the entire winter/summer schedule.
Globally, the winter schedule starts from the last Sunday of October and lasts till the last Saturday of March. The summer schedule stretches from last Sunday of March to last Saturday of October.
The official said that implementation of the new system will require some changes in the booking software.
