Mangalore: Fearing that Air India has misplaced one of his bags, a passenger on Monday refused to allow the airline’s delivery vehicle to leave his premises. It was released only after four hours when another vehicle from Mangalore airport reached the place with the missing item.
The bizarre incident was reported from Kasargod in Kerala. Ashraf (name changed) had travelled on Air India Express flight IX-816 last Wednesday from Abu Dhabi to Mangalore. Because of Bakrid, the airline saw an excess payload during the week and hence he was promised that his luggage would delivered at his doorstep on November 7. However, when the vehicle from Janani Tours and Travels, the authorised transporter for Air India Express, reached Ashraf’s house at Manikot near Kanhangad in Kerala’s Kasargod district, he found that one of his two bags was missing. An angry Ashraf reportedly refused to allow the vehicle to leave his premises till the other bag was delivered.
The issue was solved when another vehicle from the same transporter turned up at his place after around four hours with his ‘missing’ bag.
