Airport line trains to jack up speed

New Delhi: Months after Reliance Infrastructure launched Airport Metro Express, it is finally aiming to get the approval for increasing its speed.
The high speed metro line, which is run by R-Infra, had been unable to get the requisite approval of 120kmph when it had launched the airport corridor in February this year.
At the time, the commissioner metro rail safety (CMRS) had only given approval for running the high speed trains at 105kmph.
A source said, "The inspection is due to be carried out at the beginning of next week." The inspection comes days after Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) chief, E Sreedharan, had expressed unhappiness over the delay in getting the required clearance for increasing the speed and frequency by R-Infra.
