Chaos prevails at airport as youths bash up autodrivers

Jaipur: The city airport witnessed chaos and violence on Saturday afternoon. A group of youths bashed up the autodrivers and damaged their vehicles which were standing outside terminal-2 of airport.
The autodrivers registered complaints against the persons at Jawahar Circle Police station. The complaint said that a group of youths from a locality in Sanganer were extorting money from the drivers for parking their autos near prepaid auto booth situated just outside the premises of the terminal. They have been reportedly running the practice for the past many months.
On Saturday, a few of the auto drivers refused to pay them money which made the youths angry. "Later the youths in groups came and damaged the autos and beat up the drivers," said Mahenra Singh Choudhary, deputy commissioner of police (DCP), Jaipur east. He also added that police registered the drivers' complaint and has started investigation.
