Jaipur: Italian-made Augusta 190-E helicopter had been a local attraction since it made an emergency landing at a small village of Chandgothi ki Bani 15 days ago. The helicopter had been stationed at the village field since that day and residents of nearby villages had been flocking to get a glimpse of the chopper that was deployed for chief minister's duty.
The helicopter finally took off on Sunday after undergoing onsite repairs and many local villagers had gathered to witness the moment.
"It's not often that the village residents get to see a helicopter this close, not only children but even the elderly and women walked long distances to appreciate the flying machine," said a local resident.
The police that had a busy time keeping the keen villagers away from the helicopter also heaved a sigh of relief as a two-member crew from Delhi took it off for Jaipur. Prior to the flight, the helicopter was kept running for 10 minutes to ensure that all components have been operating fine.
