Nagpur: Indigo has become the second domestic airline after Air India to use the aerobridge at the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in the city. International carrier Air Arabia set the trend on November 12 and Air India followed suit on Sunday.
On Tuesday, marketing professional Swarit Kawle was one of the many who travelled by Indigo and got to use the aerobridge. Passengers on the airlines' flight from Mumbai and Delhi used the facility.
Abadesh Prasad, the COO of Mihan India Limited (MIL), said that he expects all airlines that fly into Nagpur to use the aerobridge soon.
Sources at the airport felt that the airlines are using the aerobridge only because of the heavy VIP movement for the winter session of the state legislature. "The aerobridge has been operational since four months, why didn't they begin using it then," asked the source.
