New Delhi: The Board for Reconstruction of Public Sector Enterprises has asked Air India to refer itself to the BRPSE so that the debt-ridden carrier can be put on a revival plan.
The BRPSE, under Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Minister Praful Patel, has sent a letter in this regard to the Air India Chairman and Managing Director Rohit Nandan, sources said.
"The BRPSE has sent the communication to Air India CMD a week ago..." official sources said. However, it has not received any response from Air India.
A PSU is considered sick if its accumulated losses in any fiscal are equal to 50 per cent or more of its average net worth in the preceding four years.
