Air passenger outrages modesty of female staff

New Delhi: In yet another case of misbehaviour, the modesty of a female employee of a private airline was outraged by a disgruntled passenger.
The accused, Kapil Singhal, not only used derogatory language directed at her, but also pushed and shoved her. On complaint of the victim, Avinash Kaur, Delhi Police has registered a case under sections 354 and 509 for outraging the modesty of a woman and using obscene gestures.
Kaur, who is employed with the Kingfisher Airlines, stated in the FIR, “I was allocated the boarding gate of the Delhi-Mumbai flight IT 312, which was delayed on February 13. All the passengers were seated in the aircraft and the moment I was about to announce the boarding, the passenger seated on 27 F, started shouted and created a scene.
He even asked the CISF personnel to shut the gate of the aircraft and tried to obstruct other passengers from entering. While I was busy carrying out my duty, Singhal persisted with his shouting and started hurling abuses too. He then went a step further and caught hold of my hand and then shoved it away.”
