IB takeover of Cochin airport by March 1

Kochi: The Intelligence Bureau is speeding up “takeover” of the immigration tasks at the Cochin International airport and the process is likely to be completed by March 1.
Final notification has been issued, directing takeover of immigration desks at the airport by this month end, sources said. The IB had earlier missed the deadline of February 1 as it failed to find adequate staff to be deployed on deputation.
In the initial stage, top level posts will be filled up. Already a Central Intelligence officer and a deputy Central Intelligence officer were posted to head the operations. Earlier the state had nominated Ch. H. Nagaraju (IPS) as the Foreign Regional Registration Officer (FRRO) in December.
