KF lands passengers in a soup

Bangalore/New Delhi: The cash-starved Kingfisher Airlines continued with its spree of flight cancellations on Sunday, disrupting the travel plans of thousands of passengers.
The airline, which had cancelled several flights from different destinations in the country, cancelled at least 13 departing flights from Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) and sources said that about 24 incoming flights had also been cancelled.
One of the irked passengers, Madhav Padia, wrote to the airlines on its Facebook page:?“The worst airlines...‘Kingfisher Airlines’...‘fly the bad times!”
Airport sources added that among the cancelled flights were those bound for Chennai, Mumbai, Mangalore, Hubli, Vijayawada, Coimbatore and Goa.
Overall, about 80 flights were reportedly cancelled by the airlines, which is under the Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) scanner for arbitrary cancellation of flights.
A senior official told Deccan Herald that the regular schedule would commence early next week.
In a late night statement on Saturday, the airline attributed the disruptions in its schedules, among other things, to “bird strikes” and said that the problem would persist for four more days.
