Kingfisher appeals to frequent flyers for bailout

The cash-strapped Kingfisher Airlines is now knocking at the doors of its frequent flyers, seeking a bail-out from its current troubles.
Pointing out that it is “counting on” support of its King Club members during these “difficult times”, the airline has come out with special fares, including a one-way Mumbai-Delhi flight at Rs 4,354, Chennai-Bangalore (Rs 2,354) and Bangalore-Delhi (Rs 5,056).
Interestingly, the mail goes out a day after the airline watchdog, the Directorate-General of Civil Aviation, asked travel portals to do away with the system of opaque fares. The system was being followed by some travel portals where the identity of the airline participating in a special fare offered by the portal was not revealed till the payment was made and ticketing done.
