Kingfisher records best on-time performance in last 3 years

New Delhi: Cash-strapped Kingfisher had the best on-time performance (OTP) in the last three years and low cost airline IndiGo registered the highest passenger load factor while national carrier Air India remained the worst performer on both the parameters.
Last year, Kingfisher Airlines stood second with 90.5% OTP while Jet Airways had the best figures with 91% OTP.
In 2009 and 2010, Kingfisher had registered the best OTP with 82.8 and 86.9% while SpiceJet remained at second with 82.3 and 85%.
"The on-time performance (OTP) of Air India was registered at 73.3% for 2009, 73.4 in 2010 and 73.2% in 2011 and it remained at last spot," Civil aviation minister Ajit Singh said in Lok Sabha.
The minister informed that the national carrier also remained at the last spot on the parameters of passenger load factor (PLF) in last three years.
"The passenger load factor of Air India was 66.1% in 2009, 71.4% in 2010 and 71.6% in 2011, while low cost carrier IndiGo topped with the figures of 78.6% in 2009, 83.6% in 2010 and 83.3% in 2011," the minister informed the House.
