Air India, GoAir stop flights in and out of Ranchi

Ranchi: Passengers travelling to and from New Delhi to the city will have to face a tough time as Air India and GoAir are withdrawing their morning flights from Thursday. "We are going to withdraw the service between April 19 and June 14," said an official of Air India.
On being asked about the reasons behind the withdrawal, he said, "I can only confirm that the morning flights will be withdrawn. I am not aware of the reason."
Officials of GoAir, which is withdrawing its morning flights from May 1, also refused to give any reason.
The in-charge of the Birsa Munda Airport, Raghavendra Raju, was similarly tight-lipped. "It will be better if you talk to the airline operator concerned," said Raju.
"There can be two reasons for the withdrawal. Either they are not able to afford or have found an alternative profitable route. It's the peak season and this shouldn't have happened now," said Sajjan Sharaf, president of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
