Ahmedabad: Domestic air passengers in the country will soon be able to reach their destinations in shorter time. The Space Applications Centre (SAC) of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in Ahmedabad has developed payloads for a project called GPS-Aided Geo Augmented Navigation (Gagan) which will enable better Navigation of flight routes to cut down the distance and time between two places in the country.
Gagan is a joint project of ISRO and Airports Authority of India (AAI) to manage flights in a better and more reliable way. Until now, the management of flights in the country has been based on GPS data obtained from US.
