Jet pilot calls for security as passengers protest

A Jet Konnect pilot refused to come out of the cockpit after some passengers created a ruckus demanding an explanation from him regarding low air conditioning inside the aircraft. The incident occurred at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport on Monday afternoon. The pilot asked for a security team’s help to come out of the aircraft as he felt threatened by the agitated passengers.
Security officials said this created a major scare at the airport, and quick reaction teams and other security agencies, including police, had to be rushed towards the aircraft to control the situation.
The Jet Konnect flight (9W 2461) was taxiing on the runway after arriving from Varanasi. After landing at the airport around 3:50 pm, the aircraft was taxiing towards the parking area and was in motion for 20 minutes before it came to a complete halt. Officials said the passengers did not find the cooling inside the aircraft sufficient.
