Go Airlines asked to pay over Rs40,000 over tickets cancellation

New Delhi: A low cost carrier has been directed by a consumer forum here to pay compensation of over Rs40,000 to a man for cancelling his confirmed air tickets a day before his scheduled holiday trip from Delhi to Goa five years ago.
Delhi-based district consumer forum held Go Airlines (India) Pvt Ltd guilty of deficiency in service saying that it had cancelled three tickets, booked by Faridabad-based complainant Sanjay Rana, in an "un-reasonable and un-justified" manner.
"We find the action of the OP (Goairlines (India) Pvt Ltd) quite un-reasonable and un-justified and as such the OP is deficient in providing the services to the complainant," the bench comprising of its President Narendra Kumar and members Mona Sahni and Zahid Hussain said.
It also asked the airlines to pay Rs15,078 to Rana as the difference in the amount of new tickets purchased by him with another airlines after cancellation of the scheduled flight.
