Guwahati: A Delhi-bound IAF aircraft with 196 personnel on board hovered over the airport here for a little while following a minor glitch in an indicator light of the landing gear and landed safely after ATC clearance.
The IL-76 'Gajraj' aircraft, flying to Delhi from Bangalore via Guwahati, was asked to circle around the the Lokpriyo Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport here after the pilot reported malfunctioning of the indicator light of the landing gear, defence sources said.
After the mandatory checks, the ATC told the pilot that the landing gear was fully functional and he can have a normal landing, the sources said.
The aircraft arrived with 196 defence personnel on board and 40 passengers were offloaded at the airport here while 40 others boarded the flight for the onward journey to Delhi.
