New Delhi: A section of Kingfisher pilots went on strike from Sunday night to protest the hugely delayed salaries, threatening to cripple the airline's skeletal operations too. Senior pilots said that engineers are also likely to join the stir as the airline management's constant promises to pay wages -- like their similar assurance to most vendors and creditors -- have proven to be empty so far.
"Pilots are holding meetings in both Mumbai and Delhi to decide the future course of action as we have not been paid our February salaries too while it is now July. The management's promises to pay salaries have been false and we are simply fed up. Despite clear DGCA warning that such financial penury could affect airline safety, the aviation ministry has closed its eyes to what is happening in Kingfisher," said a senior pilot.
