New Delhi: Investigations into the suicide of Geetika Sharma point towards a pattern of threat, coercion, blackmail and obsession. Gopal Goyal Kanda, the former Haryana Minister, was after her life.
Geetika, a former air-hostess with Kanda’s MDLR (Murli Dhar Lakh Ram) airlines, had tried to wriggle out of his clutches but his vice-like grip never allowed her to break free and live a life of her own.
Kanda’s obsession with Geetika demonstrated itself in callous behaviour. While she insisted that he sever all relations with his mistresses, Kanda was in no mood. Police have now unearthed hundreds of messages that Kanda sent to Geetika. These messages are a pointer to Kanda’s obsession for Geetika.
Delhi Police is all set to book Kanda under Section 201 of IPC for destruction of evidence. Kanda is proving elusive while Delhi Police has launched 30 teams comprising its best inspectors to hunt down the Sirsa MLA whose meteoric rise has been linked to many monetary scandals.
