AAI to examine Juhu runway

Mumbai: A committee comprising senior helicopter pilots from the city and officials from the Airport Authority of India (AAI) will now examine the feasibility of using Juhu airport’s main runway 08/26, whenever Mumbai airport’s secondary runway 14/32 is in use.
The development comes after the pilots protested a “dangerous” recommendation made by an AAI official, allowing the use of 08/26 while 14/32 is operational. The pilots said that the runways have a conflicting flight path that could lead to a major aviation disaster.
