The day after it was revealed that captain Abjesh Prasad was reprimanded for flying a Jeddah-Mumbai flight without licence; it has emerged that he flew as many as eight flights after his licence had expired.
In what is perhaps the worst case of recklessness in the Indian aviation history, it has emerged that senior Air India pilot Abjesh Prasad, who has been accused of flying a Boeing 747-400 from Jeddah to Mumbai on August 31 without a valid licence, flew as many as eight flights after his licence had expired.
The new revelation raises questions on why the pilot was allowed to fly without a licence in the first place, even as the airline offered bizarre clarifications, saying the DGCA was informed about the anomaly.
According to the information accessed by Times Now, between August 22, when Prasad’s licence expired, and August 31, Prasad flew the following flights: Kochi-Calicut; Calicut-Jeddah; Jeddah-Calicut; Calicut-Mumbai; Mumbai-Calicut; Calicut-Jeddah; Jeddah-Calicut; Calicut-Mumbai.
