Draft master plan ready for new airport near Itanagar

Itanagar: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has prepared a draft master plan for development of greenfield airport at Holongi near Itanagar.
This was stated by Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh during a meeting with Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki in New Delhi yesterday, officials said.
The master plan was prepared following the acceptance of the site by the state government for construction of the airport in view of its technical suitability and operational safety.
It was noted that the terrain at new Holongi site permits operations on runway from both directions as compared to Banderdewa site which permits unidirectional operation. In this regard, AAI has forwarded requirement for acquisition of 320 hectare of land to the state government.
