In a move to deal with the increasing incidents of stray and wild animals on runways and airport premises, Indore Airport Authority has decided to install cages in and around airport to catch the wild animals. In past six months few incidents have been reported when wild and stray animals had come on airport premises disrupting flight schedule.
Indore Airport director, R N Shinde said that stray animals pose a major threat to air safety. There are many incidents where flight schedules have been disrupted and landing of aircraft have face trouble due to animals straying on and around runways. To deal with it and increase the air safety at airport we are installing certain features to avoid such incidents. He added that they are taking preventive measures on the guidance of forest department.
