Intellectual forum demands shifting of airport

Itanagar: The Banderdewa Circle Intellectual Forum (BCIF) has decided to continue its agitation along with other like-minded organisations if the Arunachal Pradesh government and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) fails to shift the site of a greenfield airport.
In a six-point memorandum submitted to Chief Minister Nabam Tuki here yesterday, the Forum demanded the government to immediately revoke its decision to shift the greenfield airport from Karsingsa to Hollongi, suspension of ongoing official procedure of Hollongi site and to call back the then AAI Executive Director (planning) T K Das for public debate on the issue.
Besides, it also asked the government to declare that the land meant for construction of airport at Hollongi will be donated free of cost by the land owners and all the official formalities done so far by the state government and AAI be declared unofficial.
