Mumbai: More than 80% of flights landed on time at Mumbai airport in August. According to data provided by Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd (MIAL), less than 20% flights were behind schedule. This included both arriving flights and departures.
According to the data, 86% of departing flights took off on time from the airport in August, while 14% were delayed by more than 15 minutes. Most departures were delayed between 3pm to 11pm. Kingfisher Airlines had the highest percentage of delays. Twenty-four per cent of the airline's flights left behind schedule. Spice Jet was second with 19% departure delays, followed by AI with 14% delays.
The data also showed that 81% of arriving flights landed on time, while 19% landed more than 15 minutes later than their scheduled time of arrival. AI topped the list of arrival delays with 26% delayed flights, followed by Kingfisher with 26%. Spice Jet had 21% arrival delays. According to airport officials, the data indicates an improvement in flight delays.
