Ahmedabad: The Consumer Education Research Society (CERS) came to the rescue of a passenger who had to pay from his own pocket due to the alleged deficient service of SpiceJet Airlines.
According to a release by CERS, SpiceJet refused to compensate for the stay and transportation of Rajendra Bhagat after they allegedly rescheduled his flight without informing him.
The matter was taken up in the Consumer Redressal forum, which after taking into consideration all the evidences, gave a verdict in Bhagat’s favour on August 12. The forum ordered the airlines to pay Bhagat Rs2,905 towards accommodation and transportation charges with 9% interest along with Rs5,000 for mental agony and Rs2,000 towards litigation charges.
“The services and response of SpiceJet were disappointing. Their refusal to reimburse my stay and transportation caused by their uninformed rescheduling of the flight on which I was booked, clearly shows their lack of interest in serving their fliers,” said Bhagat.
