Mumbai: In a major jolt to Jet Airways, the state chief minister Prithviraj Chavan has asked the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to revoke the allotment of 5,951 square metre to Mr Naresh Goyal's company at up market Kurla-Bandra Complex about four years ago since the owner of the private carrier failed to make a payment of Rs 826 crore by the set deadline of March 2012. Jet Airways' Rs 10 crore deposit as earnest money will be forfeited by MMRDA.
The chief minister who by virtue of his office is chairman of MMRDA asked the commissioner Mr Rahul Asthana to evict Jet Airways which paid about Rs 340 crore after its bid for the prime plot number C-18 at G-block of BKC was approved by the MMRDA.
