Mumbai airport, which already has the highest parking charges in India for vehicles, has increased them further.
According to airport officials, the new charges of parking for four-wheelers at domestic airport are Rs100, an increase of Rs10. At the international airport, parking is free for the first five minutes, after which the same rate of Rs100 is applicable.
“It seems airport authorities are just concerned about filling their own pockets, and do not realise the effect this will have on the general public,” says Himesh Jain, a Vile Parle resident and frequent traveller to Bangalore.
