Mumbai: Facing criticism after arrests of two Air India employees for their posts on Facebook, the city police has registered an FIR against the duo's colleague whose previous complaint led to their arrest.
Their colleague, Air India Cabin Crew Association's (AICCA) assistant treasurer Sagar Karnik has been booked under Section 66A of the Information Technology (IT) Act.
The FIR was registered against him on Friday, days after two cabin crew members, Mayank Sharma and K V Jaganatharao Rao, who were arrested earlier and released on bail, wrote to the police, seeking action against cops who put them behind bars in May this year by taking unwarranted action against them.
Sharma and Rao were arrested and jailed for 12 days after Karnik's complaint in May alleged that the two had posted "derogatory" remarks against the Prime Minister's Office, the national flag and the Supreme Court, while commenting on a strike by Air India pilots.
