5 airport workers steal from flyers' luggage, arrested

Mumbai:  Five persons were arrested from the domestic terminal of the ChhatrapatiShivaji International Airport in two separate cases of stealing valuables from passengers' baggage. Cops suspect the accused have been involved in such thefts for the past 18 months.
In the first case, a loader stole an LED TV, while it was being transported from an aircraft to the conveyor belt. "The loader passed on the TV to a bus driver, who sold it for Rs 15,000. The sale proceeds were split equally between the loader, the driver and their supervisor," said DCP Namdeo Chavan. "We have arrested the three, all contractual workers, and another man who bought the stolen TV."
In another case, a contractual worker (26), Dhanaji, was caught with two laptops, a video camera, a digital camera and perfumes.
