Boeing in talks with airlines in India for 737 replacement

Bangalore: Boeing is in talks with carriers Jet Airways, SpiceJet and Air India to replace their 737 aircraft with 737-MAX models, its vice-president for sales in Asia Pacific said on Thursday. He also said Boeing will address compensation claims from customers of its 787 Dreamliner jets after the grounded aircraft are back in service.
“737 has been the mainstay of domestic aviation in India... All these airplanes will be replaced some day and the replacement for that is MAX,” Dinesh Keskar told Reuters in an interview on the sidelines of an air show in Bangalore. “We are in conversations with the airlines here.”
On addressing the compensation claims, he said. “The focus is to get the airplane back, then we will deal with that issue (of compensation) like we dealt with all these deliveries that are happening,” Dinesh Keskar told Reuters. “We will deal with that in closed rooms and with customers.”
