AAI to move fresh proposal for cargo terminal

Pune: With no government land available in the vicinity of Lohegaon airport, the Pune district collector's office has asked the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to furnish a fresh proposal seeking help for acquisition of nearly seven acre private land near the airport for the planned cargo terminal project.
"We will submit the proposal soon, after going through the pros and cons of securing private land for the project," AAI, Pune, director P S R K Sudhakar told TOI. "We will also require approval from the Indian Air Force (IAF) for such acquisition, considering that no construction is allowed within 400 m of the air force station, of which the airport is a part," he said.
