Lucknow: Scores of Air India Flight-417 passengers from Lucknow had a harrowing experience at the Udaipur airport on Friday evening after their baggage was reportedly found to be missing. The passengers, who were travelling via Delhi, had to make do without extra clothing, medicines and even important papers for more than a day. To add to their misery, the Air India ground staff was reportedly quite rude while dealing with them. Later, Air India paid compensation of Rs 1,000 to each of the traveller on account of the inconvenience caused by the national carrier.
Chief scientist, Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), A K Dwivedi, told TOI: "I and some of my colleagues were travelling to Udaipur from Lucknow via New Delhi. But when we reached Udaipur airport, we got to know that our luggage was missing. When we inquired about it, the officials feigned ignorance. They had no idea of where our baggage was. After some time, one of the officers confirmed that the baggage was not loaded at the Delhi airport and it would take them a day to get the stuff back."
