Ahmedabad: Six airports of Gujarat will undergo major modernization during the 12th five year plan period. A total outlay of Rs. 322 crores has been provided for upgrading Gujarat's major airports namely Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Surat and Vadodara.
Union minister of state for civil aviation KC Venugopal informed MP Parimal Nathwani in Rajya Sabha in response to a question on the subject.
At Ahmedabad airport, construction of a new control tower-cum-technical block will be carried out at an estimated cost of Rs. 25 crore for which the equal outlay is earmarked in 12th plan.
