Air India fliers to get more mileage redemption options

New Delhi: Around a million members of Air India’s frequent flier programme will soon get a new card, where the miles earned can be used at various hotels, restaurants and shopping malls across the country.
This initiative and a performance and efficiency audit of its employees are the two key initiatives planned by the airline for the current year.
“The plan is to make our cards more dynamic and ensure that they contribute at least 5 per cent to our revenues. We also plan to double our frequent flier base to two million by the end of this fiscal,” said a senior Air India official adding that revenues from frequent flier business contribute in double digit percentage points to large global airlines’ revenues.
