Cocaine worth about Rs. 24 cr seized by customs at Delhi airport


New Delhi: Cocaine worth about Rs. 24 crore in the street market has been seized from the cargo terminal of Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi by custom officials.
The seized drug was hidden in a consignment of nylon pipes, used in industries for various purposes, which has to be sent to Canada, custom officials said.
"The officials have yesterday seized 4.8 kg cocaine in a consignment which was to be shipped to Canada. The drug was hidden in nylon pipes," Additional Commissioner of Customs at cargo terminal, IGI airport, KK Katheria said. The consignment was booked by a person said to be living in Moradabad, he said.
