Indian police officers are heading to the UAE next week as they continue to investigate the death of a former Emirates Airline stewardess who committed suicide at her New Delhi home following alleged threats by a billionaire politician.
Geetika Sharma hanged herself from a ceiling fan in August last year. The 23-year-old allegedly left a suicide note stating that she was ending her life due to “harassment” by former Haryana state minister Gopal Goyal Kanda and his aide Aruna Chaddha.
The pair are believed to have visited the UAE to force Sharma to quit her job with the Dubai airline and return to work for Kanda’s domestic airline MDLR.
