Mumbai: An IndiGo airbus A320 plane on Dibrugarh-Kolkata route was involved in a near collision incident with an unidentified aircraft on Saturday afternoon.
The pilot of the IndiGo plane took evasive action and descended few thousand feet after receiving an alert from the aircraft's on board traffic collision avoidance system (TCAS).
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation is probing the incident and has asked the air traffic control at Kolkata and Guwahati to provide radar displays.Passenger aircraft are required to keep a separation of 1,000 feet and 5-10 miles lateral separation in a radar controlled airspace.
