Nitaqat: Help Desk at Kochi Airport for Expats from Saudi

As promised by K C Venugopal, Minister of State for Civil Aviation, a help desk for expatriates returning from Saudi Arabia, was opened by the Norka-Roots at the Kochi international airport on Wednesday.
As a result of the Nitaqat programme which is going to be implemented strictly in Saudi Arabia, a large number of Indian expatriate workers are bound to return in the coming days.
The Norka-Roots counter will be open 24x7 according to centre manager K Radhakrishnan.
He said the desk has been assigned to collect information from the returning expatriates icluding details about family members, employment and their future plans.
The government is planning to formulate a package to rehabilitate the expatriates forced  to return due to the Saudiisation programme. To be part of this programme, returning expats have to register at the counter with their details or at the Ernakulam office of the Norka-Roots.
