Mumbai: The Mumbai International Airport Pvt Limited (MIAL) and the Andheri RTO stand firm in booting out rogue taxi drivers who fleece flyers at the airport.
Despite opposition from cabbies on Thursday, MIAL and the RTO implemented a new automated system that allows flyers to book black-and-yellow taxis and Cool Cabs outside the domestic airport.
On Thursday, as the new system was being implemented, a group of cabbies put pressure on MIAL officials and got it suspended.
"There was huge resistance from a section of drivers. We discontinued the system temporarily on Thursday night but will restart it on Saturday morning. We are determined to continue the passenger-friendly service," an MIAL official said.
