AI Exp rolls back seat selection fee

Mumbai:  Air India Express has withdrawn the fee it introduced two days ago for pre-selection of seats on its flights.
On Tuesday, low-cost airline IndiGo announced that it had withdrawn its fee for pre-booking middle seats. But Air India Express, which followed IndiGo's seat-selection fee decision, has gone a step further by putting the pre-selection fee scheme in abeyance. the national carrier had announced a fee structure identical to that introduced by IndiGo, wherein all seats on board its Boeing 737 flights had a pre-selection fee.
The national carrier priced selection of its first- and second-row seats at Rs400 each and third- to sixth-row seats at Rs300 each. Like IndiGo, it imposed a Rs100 charge on middle seat selection (Rs200 for international flights).
