New Delhi: Operator DIAL on Friday announced the launch of the Delhi Airport-Collaborative Decision Making (DA-CDM) system. The system, being touted as a game changer for the Indian aviation industry, is expected to save 2,500 tonnes of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport.
A joint initiative of the Air Traffic Control (ATC), the GMR Group-led private operator DIAL and the airlines operating from the airport, the concept of DA-CDM focusses on improving flow of air traffic and capacity management at airports by reducing delays, improving predictability of events and optimising the utilisation of resources.
"The system involves airport operators, airlines, ground handlers and ATC collaborating and sharing data with all stakeholders. The project aims to improve the overall efficiency of operations at the airport, with a particular focus on the aircraft turn-round and pre-departure sequencing process," an airport spokesperson said.
