Airports authority says it can manage airports with èlan

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) still believes it is competent to handle the two newly expanded metro airports in the country. “We have no problem in managing the operations. It is only commercialisation and marketing that needs extra support,” said AAI chairman V. P. Agrawal, speaking over phone from New Delhi.
He noted that the ministry considered private companies to have aggressive marketing and persuasion skills. “The private partner will be able to market the airport and persuade more airlines to operate to the city. Similarly, it will also be able to generate more revenue through commercial activities inside the terminal,” he added.
