Srinagar: With Srinagar International Airport daily getting about thirty flights from various destinations, passengers complain against “poor” facilities at the aerodrome.
A group of passengers told Greater Kashmir that travelers have to wait for long durations outside the main terminal as only three scanning machines are being used to check baggage.
“There is a need to install additional scanning machines as the existing machines are don’t suffice to tackle with the rush of passengers,” Ghulam Muhammad, a travel agent said.
According to passengers, for getting the baggage checked they have to wait in long queues, which creates huge rush of people at the airport.
Pertinently, thousands of domestic and foreign travelers are arriving Kashmir everyday to enjoy its scenic beauty.
Passengers complained that the bathrooms inside the terminal remain dirty and unclean. “If you visit an airport outside the state, one gets a very good feeling amid a neat and clean atmosphere,” they said.
“Even though many outside airports receive huge number of flights daily, the rush of the passengers is regulated there in such a fashion that nobody is troubled,” noted businessman Manzoor Ahmad Wangnoo said.
