BijuPatnaik Airport to sell Odisha's traditional art and crafts

Bhubaneswar: To promote Odisha's traditional art and crafts, the BijuPatnaik Airport here will soon have three strategic points.
Sources said textile, handloom and handicrafts department will open a showroom of Utkalika, the sales outlet of Odisha State Cooperative Handicrafts Corporation, which showcases and sells traditional handicrafts. Utkalika outlets are there in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Pune outside Odisha, besides six towns in the state. "The airport is a strategic choice in terms of business potential. Besides, it will give a typical Odisha look to the airport and promote our art and culture," said a senior government officer.Similarly, the department will also open a Boyanika, outlet of Odisha State Handloom Weavers' Co-operative Society, to exhibit and market Odisha handloom.
