Four held at Indira Gandhi International Airport, gold worth Rs 78 lakh seized

New Delhi: Four persons, including one who tried to smuggle gold bars concealed in his lower abdomen, were arrested in two separate incidents of smuggling at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) here.
All four, who were involved in alleged smuggling of three kilograms of gold valued at over Rs 78 lakh, have been arrested, a customs official said.
Acting on a tip-off, customs officials on Wednesday intercepted Dilare Singh and Jitender Singh on their arrival in Delhi from Bangkok.
"On detailed examination of their baggage and personal search, two kilograms of gold bars were found being concealed in two TV stands provided with 32 inches Samsung LED TVs," a press release issued by the customs said.
