Jaya's chopper fails to land in Kodanad, car to the rescue

Coimbatore/Udhagamandalam: Due to rough weather the chopper carrying chief minister J Jayalalithaa could not land in Kodanad estate and had to return to Coimbatore on Friday. Later, she and her aides drove to Kodanad in the Nilgiris, from where she will carry out her administrative duties for the next few days.
"Weather conditions were normal in Coimbatore when the chopper took off from the city airport late morning. But when the chopper was approaching the helipad there were strong winds and low cloud formation in the area," said an official of the meteorological department of Coimbatore airport.
