Nagpur: Even as some repair work is beginning at the main terminal building of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport (DBAI), Nagpur, the old terminal building and its surroundings lie in a state of neglect.
Water is stagnated just outside the old terminal building porch, spreading a foul smell around the area. Sources said the water is leaking from a sewage pipe near that spot. "Our bosses pass right in front from where the water is getting stagnated for a long time, but they fail to see the pathetic condition," said an airport employee.
Even the parking lot for the employees stinks of urine and is littered. In fact, everything on the left side of the new terminal building looks quite unkempt and in need of regular maintenance. The grass has overgrown and plastic can be seen flying around the place along with stray scraps of garbage here and there.
