Steps are being taken to speed up the development of the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, Excise and Ports Minister K Babu, who also handles the airports portfolio, said on Monday.
Replying to questions in the Assembly, Babu said that steps were being taken to shift the existing domestic terminal and solve the problems faced by the passengers. The government is examining a recommendation submitted by the District Collector and the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport Development Society (TRIADS) for renewed administrative sanction for providing 18.92 acres of land as suggested by the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
